|Walk in my ways and be blessed
"And it shall be , if thou wilt hearken unto all that I command thee, and wilt walk in my ways, and do that is right in my sight, to keep my statutes and my commandments, as David my servant did: that I will be with thee, and build thee a sure house, as I built for David, and will give Israel unto thee." 1 Kings 11 : 38
Year 2000 started with a big bang throughout the world. There were celebrations and merry making. Some may have participated in it and some even if they have not participated, they would at least made some resolutions for this year. We may have made a number of plans for the year, such as venturing into new business or expanding the existing one, build a house, buy a car or even completed a course in flying colors and so on.
Retrospectively thinking about it The Lord says, my son, my daughter,
Whatever may be your position today, "Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not". (Jeremiah 33:3)
Where are you this month? Where you able to succeed in all your plans? Are there any set backs?
This month the Lord says, "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways, my ways". Isaiah 55 : 8.
Do not be dismayed. May be you are discouraged about certain things or your failures or about some broken relationships. The Lord wants to listen to your woes and help you out of the situation. Wait upon the Lord in the break of day, then he will listen to you and also you can hear him speak. Meditate on His words.
For the Lord to listen to you, you should listen to his commandments and walk in his ways. What does the commandments say? Walk in the righteous ways, flee from everything that is evil. Drinking, fighting, slave to drugs, amorous relationships, all these are abomination to God. He expects truthfulness in your house and work place, gentleness, meekness and honesty in your business and so forth.
His commandments are not difficult to follow. Just give them a try. It is worth trying. It is worth trying because for how long will you cry for your situation to be changed, to be free from debts, problems in married life, problems with unruly children.
We read in The Bible, David listened to God and walked in his ways. He used to flee for his life when King Saul chased him. He used to sleep on trees, caves, rocks, disguised himself as a lunatic person, yet he trusted in God and obeyed his words. Do you want to know what happened to David for trusting God? He became a king, with much wealth and lived a long and healthy good life.
Trust God and obey his words. He will not let you down. His pleasure is in blessing you. He is only expecting you to come to him. He is eagerly waiting for you as a father waiting for his long lost son. He loves you, even if no one loves you, or you may be even a sinner. No matter who you are; will you submit to him now, that he may bless you.
As you are reading this newsletter, close your eyes for a moment and lift your heart to God. Tell him, you need him to help change your situation and your life. Tell him that you want him to come into your life.
