"I will do marvels, such as have not been done in all the earth " Exodus: 34:10 (KJV)
Hold your rod

Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will shew to you to day:….But lift thou up thy rod, and stretch out thine hand over the sea….Exodus 14:13 - 16

Israelites were in bondage for nearly 400 years in Egypt. The Lord appointed Moses to deliver them out of their slavery through miracles and wonders.

The camp of Israel was filled with joy when they came out of Egypt. But out in the open wilderness, they were confronted with the Red Sea before them and the Egyptian army behind them.

Moses was commanded by God to lift his rod, that is, his only weapon and to stretch it over the Red Sea. The Red Sea dramatically opens up and gives way for them. All of us would like to have such a magic rod in our hands.

Yes, we do have a magic rod i.e. THE HOLY BIBLE in our hands. Carry it along wherever you go, and see the difference. It protects you from committing sin. It reflects who you are. Moreover it is a shield from danger.

Moses did various miracles with the Lord. The magicians of the Pharaoh’s court also did miracles which brought calamity on their men but could not revert them back. Moses alone could change the disasters. This made the magicians acknowledge that this is the finger of God (Exodus 8:19). There will be many in this world who can do extraordinary things. Although, you are an ordinary person when the Lord is with you others will come to know that you are different.

Daniel 12:3 points out that they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmaments and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever. This is a promise that Lord is giving you this week. Stand up for God that others may see your ways and accept Christ as their Lord. Then shall the Lord make you as a bright and shining star. Today, ask yourself about your life? Is it a living testimony for others? Otherwise, ask God to change your life. Your rod is the word of God. Have it in your heart and before your eyes always. It will bring forth fruits as you see.

May the Lord help you to be a powerful testimony as you stretch forth your rod upon everyday trails and may the Lord create new ways for you.
