"I will do marvels, such as have not been done in all the earth " Exodus: 34:10 (KJV)

"He who is unjust, let him be unjust still. He who is filthy, let him be filthy still. He who is righteous, let him be righteous still. He who is holy let him be holy still. My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work." Revelation 22:11,12

If you are not moving forward then you are moving backwards. Even though you may remain quiescent, the world around is moving so fast that you will be left behind in the race. This is true not only in secular ways but also in spiritual ways. Everyday the satan is coming up with new ways and means to deceive God’s children unless you grow spiritually you will be not be able to cope up with his tricks.

The Bible says those who are unrighteous let him be more unrighteous and those who are righteous be more righteous.

Judas betrayed Lord Jesus for 30 pieces of silver. The money did not make him happy instead made him to hang himself. That was the wages of unrighteousness (Matthew 27:3–5). Living an unrighteous life may be beneficial in the short run but it will lead to eternal damnation. On visiting a prison, all kinds of sinners can be seen but not one happy soul. The sin which they had committed eats them off every day.

Balaam, a prophet who lived in the old testament period, is cited as an example of disobedience on account of covetousness (Numbers 22:5). He promoted immorality among the Israelites (Numbers 31:16). He loved the wages of unrighteousness (II peter 2:15,16). He was rebuked for his iniquity by God through his donkey. Lord opened the mouth of the donkey to put some sense into him. He, however, did not heed to the voice of God but was condemned for eternal wrath. The Lord is warning us too of the disobedience, covetousness and immorality. If you would listen to him you need not face the eternal wrath as Balaam did.

Backsliding does not come one fine morning, but it is a slow process. your conscience gets hardened gradually and callousness sets in and no amount sin you commit niggles your conscience. Woe to such person, whose conscience is dead. We are not born out of chance but out of choice. God has a purpose in your life. He expects you to glorify him in your body and in your spirit. The Bible says, "You are bought at a price. Therefore, glorify God in your body and in your spirit which belong to God (I Corinthians 6:20). Glorifying God involves a constant struggle between the body and the spirit. To do or not do things which displeases God. Like Paul we should be able to say that I have fought the good fight. I have finished the race. I have kept the faith (II Timothy 4:6). The only way to avoid backsliding is to have a good relationship with God. Read your Bible, it is a means through which God teaches you to walk in the right way. Also it hones your conscience. Prayer helps in taking your messages to God. Reading Bible and praying to God helps you to resist fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire and covetousness, which is idolatry. Because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience (Colossians 3:6).

God is not pleased with anyone, who after knowing God returns to his old ways of sin. Bible says, "For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted the heavenly gift and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit and have tasted good word of God and powers of the age to come, if they fall away, to renew them again to repentance, since they crucify again for themselves the son of God, and put him to an open shame (Hebrews 6:4–6). God is giving you yet another chance to return to him, no matter in what ever condition you are in. Accept His offer. Do not neglect his warnings.

I pray that God would give you the strength to return from your sinful ways to His loving and outstretched arms.

May God bless you and your family.
