make way in the wilderness for you
Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.Isaiah 43:19
During the journey of Israelites from Egypt to Canaan, the Israelites camped at Piha-hiroth, a valley in the wilderness before Red sea (Exodus 14:2). When they saw that the Egyptians were following them, they became panicky and murmured against God and Moses asked, are there no sepulchers in Egypt that you have brought us to this wilderness to die?
Moses cried unto the Lord for them, and God heard their cry and asked Moses to tell them "Go forward" (Exodus 14:15).
This incident gives a spiritual comparison between the Egypt and the world. Israelites left Egypt and Pharaoh and traveled towards Canaan similarly we are also traveling towards eternity being saved from sin and the world. On our way, we ought to cross the wilderness of Sukoth, Etham and others. The sin which indwells in us entices us to our old ways. That is why St. Paul cries to God, "Oh, what a wretched man I am, who shall deliver me from the body of this death (Romans 7:23,24). Everyday, it is necessary for us to cry out to God.
The month of May has just begun, it resembles a wilderness for us. We keep wondering how this month will be for us? Will I have sufficient food, water, especially as most of the southern part of India is undergoing through a serious crisis of water scarcity. Will I be able to continue in the same house this month? How will I answer the landlord who is pestering me to vacate the place? Should I always live in a rented? Shall not God provide me with a house of my own? Will I be able to manage my family and the expenses? Will I be able to afford my childrens educational expenses? Will I able to repay my debt this month? The question goes on and on. The whole thing looks like we are in the midst of wilderness and no way to go. But who will answer our questions. Certainly, we can neither go back to the path we have tread nor go forward as the Red Sea is ahead of us. Are we crying unto Lord as the Israelites did?
God hears our earnest prayer and ask us to "Go forward", He is a God who makes ways in wilderness. Fear not, thou worm Jacob, do not be afraid what comes ahead in your path (Isaiah 41:14). The Lord of Hosts says I am the Lord; there is none other beside me (Isaiah 45:5). He is the God who created, formed, and redeemed thee. He has called you by name (Isaiah 43:1). He shall open up new ways and help shall come from the most unexpected corners. That is how our Lord works in your life this month.
May the Lord work wonders and miracles in your life this month that you may be a witness for others. If you are blessed by this message kindly let us know, that we praise God together at email@example.com
