waiting for you
"Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which, the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on that Day, and not to me only but to all who loved His appearing." II Timothy 4:8
Life in this world is not always fair but our Lord, the righteous judge, has promised us the crown of righteousness for everyone who eagerly waits for His second coming and guard their life against the worldly sinful pleasures. Apostle Paul was very certain about the crown of righteousness which he will be receiving at the judgment day. He arrived at that conclusion because he was confident about his blameless life before God.
Bible speaks about different kinds of crown.
Crown of lovingkindness and tender mercies(Psalms 103:4).
Crown of glory You shall also be a crown of glory in the hand of the Lord. And a royal diadem in the hand of your God (Isaiah 62:3). The crown of glory will be given to those who bring sinners to repentance and make them a member of Christs body. Thousands are perishing in this world without the knowledge of Christ. Your own family members, neighbors and friends need the love of Jesus. What are you doing about it? They are craving for love and peace. Will you tell them about Christ? If you do so, our God shall wait with the crown of glory for you at the day of judgment.
Crown of thorns This is a crown of curse. Jesus wore this crown of curse to make us a blessing (Mark 15:17). He bore the crown for our sins. The thorns were driven deep into head, blood poured over his face, and covered his eyes because of your sins and me. Even now whenever we follow the ways of the ungodly we drive the thorns deeper into his head. Therefore, Jesus says, separate from the ways of ungodly. It will be a thorn to your eyes and snare to your path (Numbers 33:55, Joshua 23:13). If you do not keep away from their ways, you will be tempted to follow them. Repent and God will be merciful to you for a thousand generations (Exodus 34:7), otherwise, Bible says, God shall visit the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generation (Numbers 14:18). Jesus took the crown upon Himself to make us a blessing, what would you give for your children: blessings or curse?
When will you receive the crown?
Bible says, "Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life" (Revelations 2:10). Holiness is important. Keep yourselves from evil and never deny Jesus either through your actions or words even in the meanest of the situation. Set yourselves as an example before those who do not know Jesus and also tell them about Christ that they may also receive the peace and joy.
Run the race with endurance (Hebrews 12:2). Following God for few days is not sufficient, you should be faithful to Jesus throughout your life.
Finally, abstain yourself from the worldly pleasures (I Corinthians 9:25). It may be difficult for you to do so yet if you ask God he will give you the grace to hate the worldly pleasures.
Jesus said, "My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work" (Revelation 22:12). You will receive the just reward, if you lead a life as said above. This world may not be just to you. It may be biased in judging you but Lord, the righteous, shall reward fairly in the day of judgment and give you greater reward in heaven where there will be no more sin, neither pain nor tears. There shall joy always and we shall reign with Him forever.
