sweeter than the Word of God?
The seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop Luke 8:15
The word of God is sent through this newsletter every week. How many of us read this newsletter and follow it. Some say, Yes, and some say, No. The word of God will produce fruits only when it is followed fully. What are the qualities of the word of God?
The word of God leads to rebirth of our souls
For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and sprit, joints and marrow. It judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart Hebrews 4:12.
Word of God is powerful. It reforms our lives. It makes us accept that we are sinners. Sometimes people say that I have never sinned in life. I never think harm for others. But the word of God can judge your every thought and deed. Even when you claim to be doing good, it checks whether you have an ulterior motive or really want to do good. Word of God corrects your every move. By obeying, it actually brings about the rebirth of your soul.
Makes us holy
On reading the word of God, your life can never remain the same. The word of God reveals your sinful lives and expects you to change your ways.
For God did not call us to be impure, but lives a holy life. Therefore, he who rejects this instruction does not reject man but God, who gives you his Holy Spirit I Thessalonians 4:7,8
If you accept the instruction you shall be blessed and will enable you to lead a holy life.
Makes us grow
Newborn baby drinks milk, as the child grows, mothers feed it with solid foods. The activities of the child increase, the child become an adult. Similarly, a person reading/listening to the word of God should grow in spirit. First, learns to accept the truth and slowly practices it in everyday life. As he becomes strong he also teach others about the truth.
In what category do you fall? You have been reading the word of God every week. Has it improved your spiritual life? Have you learnt to practice it in your life? Have you started teaching it to others?
St. Paul says,"In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of Gods word all over again. You need milk, not solid food" Hebrews 5:12-14
Many while they hear the word of God do not accept it for them instead point fingers at others and say it is meant for others. When it points out their sins, some find it hard to digest. They are like the newborn child, which is unable to digest solid food. Allow the Holy Spirit to speak to you. Listen and claim the words for yourself. Rectify the areas in your life which needs correction. And teach others from what you have learned. The Bible says,"Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in salvation" I Peter 2:2.
"We should in all things grow up into him who is the Head, that is Christ" Ephesians 4:15
Gives us light
God created the world. It was perfect in its entirety. Due to Adam and Eve, sin entered the world. It became dark spiritually. Through the crucifixion of Christ on the cross the head of satan was crushed. However, with the little power he has got, satan has blinded the eyes of the people that they may not see the truth. People who have accepted Christ as their savior has the hope of light as the word of God brings light into every individuals life.
Psalmist says,"Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path" Psalms 119:105.
The word of God guides us when we are perplexed. It gives joy when we are saddened. It tastes sweeter than honey when our life becomes bitter. It gives us the power to fight against the power of darkness and principalities.
Therefore, crave for the word of God. Read it everyday, go to the church and listen to what the servant of God speaks. Because it is not he who speaks to you but God himself. If you accept it, you will be blessed.
May the Lord help you to grow spiritually everyday. If you are blessed by this message kindly let us know, that we praise God together at firstname.lastname@example.org
