For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling. He will hide me in the shelter of his tabernacle and set me high upon a rock Psalms 27:5
Meditation verses: Psalms 27:1-5
David says, The Lord is my light and my salvation whom shall I fear? Danger encompasses us in every walk of our lives. If God does not protect, it is impossible to live in this world with peace of mind. Therefore, hold onto the God, the true light, who can protect you from the power of darkness. This month God says that he will protect from dangers.
Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, " Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain." I Chronicles 4:10
We love and trust our beloved ones but when they do not reciprocate our feelings we feel the pain and agony within us. Jabez cried out to God to protect him from harm and pain. Instead of trust in man, trust in God, he shall deliver you from all evil.
When will God protect you from evil? He will protect you when you long for the presence of God. All that God expects from you is to have constant communion with you. Worries of this world are always with us. If you spend more and more time in the presence of God, your worries will appear as mustard seeds for you and you will gain strength to face them.
Psalmist said, " my hope is in you all day long." Psalms 25:5. Can you say the same with such conviction. If you are worried about your future say that my hope is in you, Lord. He will never disappoint you.
You should be desirous of the presence of God. Do you feel the joy in your heart and when you have go to church or when you spend time with the Lord at home or has it become ritual. If it has become a ritual, how do you expect the Lord to take care of you.
Psalmist says, "In the shelter of your presence you hide them from the intrigues of men" Psalms 31:20. Lord also protects us from intrigues of men. Moses loved the presence of God and He rescued him from all troubles (Acts 7:10).
Similarly, Daniel loved the presence of God. God made him a wise man who could understand visions and dreams of all kinds Daniel 1:17. Because he refused to stop worshipping the Lord he was put in the lions den. But the Lord shut the mouths of the lion that none could harm him (Daniel 6:21). The Lord shall shut the wagging tongues against you.
