"I will do marvels, such as have not been done in all the earth " Exodus: 34:10 (KJV)
Are you without hope?

Then He said to me, "Prophesy to these bones and say to them, ‘Dry bones, hear the word of the Lord! This is what the Sovereign Lord says to these bones: I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life…’ " – Ezekiel 37:4,5

Meditation Verse – Ezekiel 37:1-11

The Lord brought Ezekiel to a valley filled with dry bones. Then He asked him, "Son of man, can these bones live?" The prophet replied humbly, "O Sovereign Lord, you alone know." The dry bones represent the mankind without hope. It is impossible for these bones to come back to life again. When does a man end up without hope? When he reaches a pinnacle where he cannot solve his problem through any means. They may find solace in alcohol and destroy their lives or prematurely end their life. They do not consider the root cause for their hopelessness. A person reaches the stage of hopelessness only when the hand of the Lord is against him.

Is the hand of the Lord against you? Have you ever wondered why? In Bible we read about Naomi, who says that the Lord’s hand is against her (Ruth 1:13). During famine she left her native along with her husband and two sons in search of green pasture. Albeit she did not enquire God about his will whether to leave for a new place. Because of her disobedience she lost her husband and two sons. God expects you to give consult Him before you plan anything. There is no use crying when you face the consequence for your foolishness.

How to know the will of God? God has given prophets for us, they shall pray and tell us what to do. In Genesis 20:7, the Lord says to the erring king, Abimelech, "Now return the man’s wife, for he is a prophet, and he will pray for you and you will live." God himself acknowledges the role of prophets. There were several prophets during the Old Testament period. Although Moses was like God to Pharaoh, he too needed a prophet.

Then the Lord said to Moses, "See, I have made you like God to Pharaoh, and your brother Aaron will be your prophet." – Exodus 7:1

The prophets are there to correct and chastise you. You should listen to him. You may not like what he advises you but if you obey him you shall be blessed.

Next, acknowledge the greatness of God. St. Paul says, "And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything because he himself gives all men life and breath and everything else" (Acts 17:25). Therefore, fear and reverence God. Never think you can go your own way yet succeed in life. The success, which you may get, will be short lived and will not give you peace of mind. Inspite of working day and night you will not have much. The rate of broken marriages is on the increase because the families do not acknowledge the presence of God in their life.

Are you one of the person who is without hope?

My dear brother sister and brother, there is hope for you. The Lord showed the bones to his prophet and did not leave it at that; He wanted to give life to them. God wants your life to bloom once again. What should you do to get back the lost cheer?

Seek the Lord with all your heart and soul. Confess your sins and return back to Him. He is a compassionate God. No matter what your sins are, He still would take you back with the outstretched arms if you repent and return to Him.

But if from there you seek the Lord your God, you will find him if you look for him with all your heart and with all your soul – Deuteronomy 4:29.

He is the one who bruises and heals. When you go astray He punishes you to correct you and put you in the right path once again.

See now that I myself am He. There is no God beside me. I put to death and I bring to life, I have wounded and I will heal, and no one can deliver out of my hand – Deuteronomy 32:39.

Therefore, listen to Him and obey His statues and you shall be blessed.

May God bless you.
